All those drills improve you a lot. They are the same drills I was taught with. The only thing I disagree on is how they loop. Their method doesn't start with the paddle lower than the table. That will cause less topspin because the swing is minimized. Also, does anyone know how to do the topspin or topspin side spin pendulum serve they showed? I can't understand it just by looking at the video.

I'd like to add pingskills is also a very good guide in improving. I've used a ton of their videos to learn form. Also you can ask them questions on their website.

yea i agree w/ u david but i guess it was intentional 4 some reasons =)
either 1. they dont wana put that much spin on the ball coz of more errors o_O"
or 2. its just a vid 4 basic training 4 us to c n not what they r capable of doing... =X
besides u gota keep in mind that they arent even top players of pingpong... =_="

You don't need tacky rubbers to produce a lot of spin.

idk, i dont really like pimples. my old paddle had short pimples. very awkward, because it barely added any spin.

the only problem is that ocasionally when i play against cheap mofos, they aim for my left, so when i had my old paddle, i put in too much power and the ball hits them. sometimes intentionally. any way to avoid that besides hitting softer?
