Ferrer beats Almagro in Buenos Aires final
David Ferrer won the Copa Claro tennis tournament on Sunday, coming from behind to defeat defending champion Nicolas Almagro 4-6 6-3 6-2 in an all-Spanish final.
It is 13th ATP tour title for the fifth-ranked Ferrer, who dropped serve decisively at 2-1 in the opening set at Lawn Tennis Club in Buenos Aires.
Ferrer broke to open the second set and held serve throughout to force a decider.
The second-seeded Almagro had a couple of chances to break in the second game of the third set, but Ferrer held and broke in the next game and again at 3-1.
