Rubber help Empty Rubber help

Post by Ivan Lin Tue Oct 07, 2008 8:30 pm

ok i just have a little problem with choosing my rubbers. i mean like the new torrent rubber have the effect of speed glue but i dont even know how it feels like. i would like a fast and tacky rubber for my forehand and kind of maybe softer rubber for my backhand so it can have more control(i suck in my backhand). anyways i was thinking of getting the new 729-2 rubber since the description seems to be my type(fast and quick power close to the table.) so is to better to have my 729-2 rubber to be my forehand or the new torrent rubber to be my forehand? thank you!

I think the Double Happiness Hurricane II would be good for your forehand. Its fast and has high spin but its a bit heavy. I have the 729-3 and i think its almost the same as the 729-2 and its light and fast but the spin isn't as good as a dense rubber like the Hurricane II. I'm not sure how the torrent rubbers effect your game so I can't help you with that. Crying or Very sad

Hurricane 2 is used by Wang Liqin ranked 3 Chinese shakehand user and believe me his attacks are fast. If you want to experiment with Torrent I know Charlie's racket has Torrent on it.

Actually my Double Happiness G666 rubber was more expensive than my 297-3 rubber and both are pretty high level rubbers.

Cause penhold gets the most variety of service, but shakehand is a quicker attack.

Its true that DHS is better but I use penhold so I only really need one rubber so I chose a faster rubber than my DHS to add variety to my playing style.

pretty true. well except maybe if you by pips. just try a rubber out. i'd recommend something with a softer sponge for your first non-premade paddle so maybe get something with medium-soft/medium-hard sponge for your forehand and soft for backhand.

But remember guys... no matter how good your paddle is... "Game not in paddle. Game in you!" Laughing
